Background and experience
Sena Dake is the Immediate Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and a seasoned finance, audit, and governance professional with over two decades of leadership experience across the public sector, regulatory institutions, academia, and the private sector.

A Chartered Accountant, Lawyer, Certified Tax Professional, and Certified Expert in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance, Sena brings a multidisciplinary perspective to financial oversight and institutional reform.

Her experience spans the following key areas:

  • Public financial management, internal audit, and governance reform across regulatory authorities and public universities, including the University of Ghana, Legon, and the University of Education, Winneba.
  • Serving as Chief Audit Executive in multiple institutions, establishing internal audit frameworks and delivering independent assurance on governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Leading the ICAG as President (2022–2024), championing legislative reforms — including the passage of the ICAG Act 1058 — strengthening corporate governance frameworks, and advancing professional standards for the accounting profession.
  • Board leadership including Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Republic Ghana PLC, Chair of the Finance Committee at the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), and Board Member and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Pan-African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).
  • Advisory and consulting services in auditing, financial management, and corporate governance to public and private sector clients through Deon & Noed International.
  • Sustainability and ESG leadership, including active membership on the Sustainability Working Group Africa, the International Transition Plan Network, and the Africa Regional Partnership on Sustainability Reporting.

Sena has contributed significantly to capacity building across the profession, directing initiatives in collaboration with IFAC, ACCA, PAFA, Global Fund, Gavi Alliance, and USAID. She has co-authored academic texts on audit and assurance, edited taxation manuals, and lectured at leading institutions including GIMPA Business School and the University of Education, Winneba.

A sought-after thought leader, Sena has delivered keynote addresses and facilitated panel discussions at international platforms including the ECOWAS ABWA Joint Congress, the Financial Reporting Council Nigeria, PAFA Sustainability Week, and IFAC/UNCTAD forums on sustainability reporting harmonisation across Africa.
